Design Brief: A design was needed for the casing that will hold all the electronics, the motor and power supply needed to run the chamber that will shred and collect materials. This was to be made out of 3/8in marine-grade polymer (HDPE). It should minimize the use of screw for assembly and should be able to be machined on the in-house CNC.
Solution: The result was a box that was compact enough and had enough room for a power supply, one H-bridge board, a Raspberry pie, 2 NFC readers, one DC motor, and a variety of buttons and switches. It also had all the features required to mount a chamber and run through plant material samples.
